Meghan Picerno will sing her signature role of Cunegonde in Bernstein’s  Candide with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra on May 22. As part of the Cincinnati May Festival, the semi-staged concert version will be conducted by Katharina Wincor and narrated by Hugh Dancy.

Ms. Picerno is renowned for her “exuberant” (New York Times) performances as Cunegonde, with critics previously raving, “Picerno ascended the coloratura heights of “Glitter and Be Gay” with jaw-dropping precision, and her comic scenes were crisp and extroverted” (San Francisco Examiner).

Joining her onstage is a top-notch cast of soloists, including Aaron Crouch as Candide, Leann Sandel-Pantaleo as The Old Lady, David Garrison as Dr. Pangloss/Martin, Timothy McDevitt as Maximillian/Captain/Stanislaus, Simone McIntosh as Paquette, and Alex Mansoori as Governor/Vanderdendur/Croupier, among others.
